Home MenuUser Permission Examples
- All govAccess Vision websites will be customized to your group's permission needs, for simplicity in definition we will classify CMS users as either Super Users, or various levels of Basic Users.
- This example website has Super Users (A) and two levels of Basic users (B and C)
- Even though THIS example CMS has only 1 functioning Content Group (a division for Content ownership) your CMS may have many Content Groups and a series of Basic User permission levels/roles, workflows and approval cycles
- To outline the 3 permission levels lets meet Lesley (A), Ron (B), and April (C)
Lesley (A) is a Super User - She is responsible to control the administrative functions of the website. Like building new users, controlling the variables and settings, and as a Super User she will be able to Edit and Publish any content for all Content Groups.
Lesley can at any point step in and assist with the Parks and Rec Content Group's stuff. She is ultimately responsible for the organization and functionality of the website, and can expand and limit the templates and features of web content that the Basic Users have access to.
Ron (B) is a Basic User- He can only edit and manage content that belongs to the Content Group he belongs to. Ron is the Department Head of Parks and Recreation and wants final say over what gets Published in a two-step workflow/ or approval cycle. Other members of his department may work on the website, but before content goes live, Ron will review then publish.
April (C) is also a Basic User- like Ron she can only edit and manage content that belongs to the Content Group she belongs to. But she can't Publish content on her own, it must pass to Ron to go live.
