Home MenuLeaf Collection- Street and City Sanitation - Title your content well
What makes this Page's Title good?
- Front load the important information (Leaf collection, then the department or regulator)
- It is very specific, the language used fits what a average citizen would use in a search field
What did the page look like on a live website and critique?
- The old page was titled " News Flash: Bag It Buffalo"
- Bad Page Title -
- Organized as a "News Article" it shouldn't be- this is something that happens year round and would best fit as a page with specific content or an FAQ
- All of the content that answers the question "what do I do with all my leaves in my yard?" is answered in a image file- this is not compliant at all.
-
- the Alternative Tag for this image is: "BagItBuffalo-flyer-2022"
- that is the only content that would be read aloud to a blind user
- This news article from 2022 was deleted/archived in Fall 2023 and the only Leaf related searches on Buffalo's website is now:
- WhatsHappening-Leaf an even worse image from 2017
Even though it is "boring" the page should look like this:
What do I do with all of the debris in my lawn?
- Put all yard waste/debris in clear plastic or paper bags
- Place bags by the curb on trash collection day
- Do not rake leaves into street- you may receive a written summons/fine
Lawn debris:
- leaves, plant cuttings
- grass and grass clippings
- brush, sticks and branches
Can't wait for trash collection day? Drop off your lawn debris:
